Working With A Dermatologist To Perfect My Skin

Four Tips For Reducing The Appearance Of Large Pores

Many people suffer from having large pores that they are not happy with. After all, large pores can be a bit unsightly and, unfortunately, having larger pores is all due to genetics, so, it's not something that you can change. However, you can reduce their appearance so that you are able to have the healthy, young looking skin you want. Here are four tips to help you do this:

  1. Reduce Amount of Sebaceous Oil: The sebaceous oil on your skin can make large pores appear even larger. For this reason, it's important that you do what you can to reduce the amount of this oil on your skin. To do this, you will want to purchase specific toners, such as a lactic-acid based toner. Using these regularly is going to help reduce the appearance of large pores and even help your skin appear less oily throughout the day.
  2. Unclog Pores: Next, you want to be sure that your pores are not clogged. When large pores are clogged, they are going to look even larger because they will be more noticeable since they will be filled with black dirt. Be sure that you are washing your face every morning and night to reduce the amount of dead skin and dirt that is clogging your pores. From here, you should also be sure that you are using products with salicylic acid, which is going to help kill bacteria that can also be clogging your pores.
  3. Exfloliate Your Skin: Exfoliating your skin is so important, especially if you have large pores. This is going to keep your face free from dead skin cells that are clogging your pores. However, this should only be done once or twice a week. If your skin gets irritated from this, keep it down to once a week or even less to prevent your skin from appear red and dry.
  4. Use Primer: Before you put on makeup, always be sure that you are using a primer. The primer is going to fill your pores, which prevents your makeup from clogging the pores since it can't get in there. This is also going to make your makeup go on smoother, so that you don't end up wearing too much of it.

Still having problems minimizing the appearance of your large pores? Be sure to talk with a professional at a  dermatology clinic. In many cases, prescription cleansers and other products can help.
